REFERRAL SERVICE
Policy
Students who wish to visit other libraries and gather further information in their research work are provided assistance by issuing a Referral Letter addressed to the Head / Chief Librarian of the UniversityLearning Library that they will visit. Only bonafide students of UDM with valid ID are entitledLearning to this service. ID must be presented upon requesting for a referral letter. Customer Service Librarian reserves the right to issue a letter to the requestor if the information is readily available at OLFU libraries.
Process

Requestor needs to log in the referral log book to determine their topic of interest and what school are they visiting.

The Reader’s Service Librarian interviews them first to determine their information need. If Reader’s Service Librarian deemed that the information, they need are available in the libraries in the university, he/she will then offer sources to Library users.

Reader’s Service Librarian determines that they indeed need further information, he/she then determines the possible date of visit and what Library they intend to go to.

Reader’s Service Librarian checks if the Library that they indicated, the information/ resources that they want to is available.

If available, RSL informs the library users when can they pick-up the Referral Letter.

Referral Letters are released a day after the request was made.
