Borrowing Privileges

Borrowing privileges

a. Faculty and staff may borrow three (3) books for one week. Students are allowed to check out two (2) books for three (3) days with one (1) book for overnight loan and additional three (1) book for Room Use during Library hours.

b. Special collections such journals, vertical files and thesis – these materials

    are all available for Room Use only to all users.

c. E-resources Collection these are available for browsing in the

    computers available at Multimedia Area.

d. Students and Staff are required to return borrowed materials on time to

    avoid inconvenience.

e. All Library materials are subject to ROOM USE policy for some researchers

   (Job Order and Part-Time employees)

 

Room Use Only Materials

The Library builds a strong and updated Reference Collection in any format.  Type of materials included in this category is:

a. References such as almanacs, encyclopedias, biographies, dictionaries,

    handbooks, guides, maps and atlases.

b. Journals and relevant magazines.  The Library maintains at least 3

    professional journals for all programs and is establishing to hold more

    local publication.

Circulation procedures

a. Prepare circulation desk, and keep the circulation area in order within

   10 minutes before opening the Library.

b. Check all needed materials / supplies for the next morning 10 minutes

    before closing.

 

For Main Library

            a. Patron encoding process

Encode all borrowed materials in excel right after the book issued to the borrowers.

            b. Circulation process

                        i. Take in or lend the book to user, fill up the borrower’s card                                    with the date returned or date due.

                        ii. File the borrower’s card in the filing tray in alphabetical order                               by Last Name.

            c. Returning process

For students

  1. Check the last name of student in the filling tray.

 

  1. Check the borrower’s card to check the title of the book borrowed, same as the book to return.
