Student/faculty orientation Policy
1. The library participates in semestral orientation program of
the University to inform the academic community on the use and regulations of the library.
2. Chief Librarian coordinates with the Office of Student Affairs
about the orientation schedule of new students and faculty members.
3. Department/ Reader’s Service Librarian prepares Library
brochure and updates at least one month before
orientation schedule.
4. Make a presentation through PowerPoint, the following should
be included in the presentation:
a. Functions of the Library
b. Rules and regulations
c. Library location and hours
d. Facilities
e. Services
f. Personnel
5. Keep a hard and soft copy for the Library
6. Forward soft copy to Office of Student Affairs (OSA)
for presentation
7. During orientation, there must be a librarian to attend
to possible questions
8. Librarians distribute user’s guide to attendees.
9. Prepare a report about the orientation based on the following:
a. No. of students attended
b. Questions asked
c. No. of brochures distributed.
